Quotes for assistant work depend mostly on hours, the mix of tasks and how much judgment the work needs. Entering data from clean source files is a different job from answering customer emails in your voice. A clear note in the form lets the service partner gauge that before they reply.
Mention any hard limits too, such as tasks that must happen during your business hours, software the assistant must already know, or data that cannot leave a certain system. The partner will come back with questions and, once the picture is clear, a written proposal you can accept or decline.
What to put in your request
A few specifics make the first reply far more useful. Include what you can.
- The tasks you want handed off, in plain words
- Roughly how many hours a week those tasks take now
- The software involved, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, HubSpot or QuickBooks
- The hours or time zone the assistant needs to cover
- Whether the work is steady or rises at certain points in the month
- Who on your side will give instructions and answer questions
- Anything the assistant must not touch or decide alone
After the form: a reply, a call, a proposal
A service partner contacts you at the work email you entered. If the scope is already clear they may go straight to a proposal. If not, they will ask for a short call first.
The written proposal sets out the tasks, schedule, access and cost. You choose whether to accept it. No work begins and nothing is agreed until you do.
